Here is a little ditty I wrote up for the Just for Laughs Pitching Session

I didn't get picked but had fun trying. Rejection is part of this gig and I'm pretty good at it now. I have however limited myself to 8 rejections a day. Then it starts to affect my groove, nothing a good chuckle can't fix.

Once Upon A Time

About 10 years ago
A really funky chick
Started doing stand up comedy you know
She starting touring immediately
Began to tape her sets
She sent them off to She’s so Funny
A gig she couldn’t wait to get
While she was filming She's so Funny
She watched how it was done
She began creating in Vancouver
A show sure to be # 1
To show off our West Coast style
Great comics she has cast
Some spotlight on the west
Is that too much to ask?
She starting filming shows
And before she even tried
This Diva Comedian had
Four episodes in the bag !!!
Now Vancouver’s the Entertainment
Capital of Canada, I’m sure you know
But the rest of the world doesn’t know this yet
Because we haven’t got a show?
But Kimberley’s ready to change all that
And she really deserves a chance
To show the world how the diva lives
And have your guests all laugh and dance
She's been working endlessly
To showcases amazing stars
She takes her cameras everywhere even in her car
Now Kimberley’s been fighting harder
She’s lost over a HUNDRED POUNDS
She’s connected with all the money people
And made sure successful people were around
Her treatment and web sites ready
Information for you to know
She has an amazing pitch idea
That’s sure to steal the show
It’s true that laughter’s medicine
And Kimberley is the Doc
She knows she only has 5 minutes
She promises to beat the clock
I thank you all for considering me
For this opportunity is great
It’s more than just a special date
This pitchfest is my fate

Home away From Home

I have this awesome place I go
Just to get away
It’s only up the road
Just about five hours away
It seems I never get to go
As often as I like
But when I do, I am reminded
What serenity is like
The road is rather windy
Beautiful lakes you pass
It’s quite the ways to come on back
So we always bring extra gas
It to the right no where
And south of solitude
It’s north of amazing mountains
And always improves me mood
The hot spring water flows freely
Friendly faces to be had
And every time I go there
It’s the best time I’ve ever had
The birds wake you in the morning
The rushing water makes you sleep
You don’t hear any sirens
And the quiet lets you think
I can’t wait, to go on back
To my home away from home
And anytime you want go
I’m waiting by the phone

For my Dude

I still check on you darling, even late at night
Just to make sure, that you are tucked in right
Still after nine years I watch you breathe
And dote over you, and your every dream

The novelty of you my son hasn't worn off
I worry even with, the slightest little cough
I Thank God daily, that he gave you to me
And only when you have your own, you shall see

The amazing soul that has blessed my life
Your laughter I enjoy, each day and each night
May God protect you from above
And may you know how much Angel, you are truly loved.

Sarah

I opted not, to stay downtown,
Despite the heavy and seething crowds

The Canucks had a home game, and won 2-3,
They made all the fans, go el loco see

But on the way home,as quick as a light
An amazing lil angel, ran in and out of my life

Her name is Sarah and she's all but 4
Her dark hair and huge smile was refreshing and more

At first I was worried about her being out so late
And I have to admit, I was a little irate

For it was way after 11, and a Saturday night
The skytrain no place, she should be in bed, tucked in tight

Her impressive big words, were amazing and beaming
And soon after she started, I felt bad for selfish reasons

You see pretty lady, the telescope was free
Down at the Planetarium, you should run and go see

My Daddy, he took me out, this late at night
To see all the planets, cause tonight was the best night

I saw Venus and Mercury,did you know they are stars
I even saw Saturn, and can you believe Mars

I sat there dumb-founded, and a lil over whelmed
My pre conceived notions, were so dreadfully unfound

We shared a few chips and then she was gone
I hope she sleeps soundly, and God keeps her strong

This little darling, was such an amazing surprise
When she left, I said, I saw the biggest star of all tonight !!!

Little big Sarah made my day
Her dark hair and chubby smile
Made my all my problems go away

Sweet Dreams you precious doll
