Kimberley Beaudoin's Biography
Born
March 3rd, 1969, in Vancouver BC, Kimberley grew up to an evolving
Vancouver skyline and learned how to walk on the sands of Jericho Beach.
Inhaling copious amounts of sea water and eating sand covered revels
and fish and chips, she always got a laugh telling adults to drop on
their" pointy little head" at the ripe age of two. Adopted
at birth, she grew up with a family that allowed her freedom of expression
through music and drama productions she performed in her own back yard.
Kimberley’s first lead roll was Daniel, in a Christmas
play in her grade seven class. She won her first public speaking contest
the same year taking home first place awards with her speech on Terry
Fox, a Canadian hero she admired and still does.
Kimberley loved writing poetry music and funny stories
and found later, at the age of 13, that her biological family was, for
the most part, in the entertainment field. With music and comedic genes
in her family it made perfect sense for her to do what she was capable
and seem to have a knack at doing, entertaining. Her biological Father
was a stand up comedian and musician of his day, playing at such renowned
places as the Blarney Stone in Vancouver as the house musical and comedic
act. Kimberley still plays those old tapes to inspire her and remind
her of her father who past away September 26, 2001.
Kimberley started doing stand up comedy in 1996, graduating from the
Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Gym Stand up Course playing for a full house of
three hundred at the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver. She was noticed by
a producer of the Laff Riot Girls, Ardell Fitzpatrick, and was given
the opportunity to perform and do shows with the local Vancouver comedy
troupe. It was there that Kimberley gained confidence and began to film
her comedy sets. She submitted a demo to She’s So Funny, a former
WTN now W Network show that focused on women in comedy. She flew to Toronto
and did her first comedy taping for television consumption on Dec 1 2000.
